I used to have a similar problem with a Meinl Weston 2145, and I'm 6'4"!! Between the angle of the mouthpiece receiver being a little "up", and the fact that I tend to kinda blow "down" when I play, I felt like I was always straining just a bit to get the perfect angle. Adding to this problem was the fact that I was touring quite a bit and sat on all manner of oddly angled chairs.

My solution was to get one of those Stewart stands with the peg that supposedly goes down to the chair to lift the horn up a bit. I then got a big "C" clamp, attached a PVC pipe cap to it with a couple of screws, and would clamp that on the edge of the chair. By putting the end of the peg into the cup and adjusting the rod on the horn, I was always able to get it "just right", no matter what type of chair I was sitting on.

If this sounds like something you'd like to try out, feel free to shoot me an email and I'll send you a little diagram of how I did it.
