Whoever suggested that you replace a Yamaha 641 with a St. Pete is NUTS!!!!! The St. Pete has a larger bore than the Yamaha, but that isn't always better. In EVERY other way the Yamaha is a far superior instrument. If you have gone to the effort of overhauling the Yamaha, why would you even consider spending more money to replace it with an inferior instrument? I have seen the valve linkage on a St. Pete self destruct after less than a year of playing. The Yamaha should last your lifetime.

If you aren't happy with some aspect of the Yamaha, you could try out some other horns, such as a Meinl-Weston 25, a Miraphone 186, or even a Cervany, if you want to stay with a moderately priced rotary. But, none of them are inherently better than your current horn.
