I do know first hand (my horn, my car) that putting a euphonium in the back seat, in a gig bag, and strapping it with the seat belt is not dent proof. When I got hit head on, the seat belt retractor retracted with enough force to crush the bell on my Sterling. Still better than flying around in the car, but it hurt my heart, nonetheless.
