Well, I say that tubas are the most expensive only after watching my fellow high schoolers purchase instruments for themselves that are either top of the line or standard (for HS) and only pay a third to half for them than I would pay for a tuba. And, actually, I have some friends who have professional quality instruments. Eric Oliver, an infrequent poster on this BBS, has an oboe that was specially crafted to fit his hands, and that cost more than I'm worth! hehe... so what would THE most expensive instrument be? I know that Hamberg Steinway pianos (the REALLY REALLY nice ones that UNT has) are somewhere between 125 and 250 thousand bucks. Anybody know?
