Cerveny tubas are not stiff- none that I've played. Rudolf Meinl makes a 4/4 piston CC that is so open-playing that it took me a while to get used to it. Older, full-size American tubas are generally not stiff. An Olds fiberglass sousaphone in good shape is not stiff . . .
