You said: "we tried to get a Tuba Quartet going, but the band director said there wasn't any music for one."

NOT TRUE!!! Educate your teacher!

Contact R. Winston Morris at Tennessee Tech or Scott Watson at U of Kansas. Both have e-mails listed on their respective universities' websites. At the Symphonia workshop at Brevard we did some quartet music that was at a virtuoso level in places. We did an arrangements of "The World Is Waiting On The Sunrise," "Paladio" (the DeBeers diamond song), The Robin Hood fanfare, and several others that were extremely challenging.

Mr. Morris has an extensive library, and is considered by many to be the foremost authority on literature for solo and ensemble tuba(s).

Also look at TUBA Press, which publishes most of the arrangements that we played, and Robert King also has a pretty good list and is linked from the shops page of this website. There are literally hundreds of charts for tuba/euph ensemble if you know where to look, and whom to ask.
