Hi Andy! I have USUALLY played this on F (Yamaha 822 or 621), but once I played it on a Yamaha 321 E-flat and it was WAAAAY too loud! I've also played it on a Mirafone 184CC and a 186CC. I guess the answer is :"IT DEPENDS!" What sound are you looking for? What kind of trombone does the bass bone guy have? Is the first trombone player using big equipment? Does your instrument make the sound YOU are looking for? I guess trial and error is the best factor. Try recording yourself and figuring out what YOU like. If YOU like the results, it is easier to "sell it" to your collegues. Good luck!!
