Hang on to that dream but don't become so focused on it that you let other opportunities pass you by. There are a lot of places to play your horn. There are community bands and orchestras, semi-professional orchestras, and jazz bands, big bands, dance bands, and small groups every where you look. Learn to play the bass guitar and other low bass instruments. You might find your nitch as a studio musician. The work is out there but it won't beat a path to your door. The more you play the more opportunities you will have to play.
