When I was in highschool a few years ago, we had 5 silverplated King sousaphones. We had 3 regular sousaphones that the band director got in 83', and they were satin silver in those old band pictures. The other 2 were different. One was the same size as the regular 1250's, but was a little fancier in design. The bracing was different, the bell was one piece, said "KING made by H.N. White" and also sounded a little fuller. The other was also an H.N. White, but was huge. It had a very fancy and big "KING made by H.N. White" on the bell. The bell was about 2 inches bigger, the throat and outer branches were bigger, and it might have had a larger bore, but I know the pistons were wider and taller. This sousaphone is larger than the Conn 20k, and sounds larger too. It was the best sousaphone I have played, but I don't think it is made anymore.
