Think about this:
Pull the styrofoam inserts out of the case. They are glued in with contact cement so if you are careful, they can be removed in one piece so that you can re-inserted them later. Now you can put your horn in the bag and put the whole mess in the case. You can stuff your socks and BVD's in the extra space to keep the horn from sliding around.
