There recently was a thread on a disastrous article, which apparantly had the intend to inform HS band directors on the use of CC tubas in their bands. There was no usable information in that article. The neboulous disinformation in that article was so effectively made, that one easily could get the suspicion that it had been issued on Edition KGB.
I find it sad, that there apparently is very little knowledge among band directors on the foundative instruments of their bands.
The myth in the orchestral world, that viola players often are left alone (mis-)doings, because a number of conductors can not read alto clef, seems to have a parallel in the band world.
