Carolyn asked:
--I'm mystified by this marching baritone I noticed on ye olde €bay. I'm used to 3 valves (well, more usually 4 or 5) But what gives with this 2 valve dealie? What sort of tunes is it going to play? --

Just about anything you could play on a three valve horn. The 12 combination is easy to lip down to a 23 combination, especially with the standard second valve slide kicker. Also, the fundamental pitch of the horn is a G below the usual Bb, so the third valve that would be needed for low notes on a Bb horn is not needed on the G horn.

...I wouldn't recommend showing up to a quintet or orchestra rehearsal with one of these, but they're good for "happy-fun-time" playing.
