You needn't be worried that having a lesson with Michael Moore will be an insult to your current teacher or an act of disloyalty on your part. All good teachers know that they can't teach everything, and occasionally a fresh viewpoint can get someone past a hurdle. You will be surprised at how much you'll learn in even one or two lessons from a good symphony pro. Continue with your current teacher if he is meeting your needs generally, but schedule a couple of special lessons with Mr. Moore. The cost of two lessons isn't enough to worry about--you'll spend much more than that playing the mouthpiece game.
