Just had a wierd thought. Get a heavy paperboard tube that is used for pouring concrete columns. One that is a little larger in diameter than the body of the horn. Line it with old carpet and put a pad in the bottom to rest the bottom bow. Tube goes in the closet, horn goes in the tube. I think it would be as well protected as in a hard case and when you want it, just reach in, grab the top bow, and haul it out.
