POWER OUT indeed. Just before you posted your response, the local telco gazoonies came to "work on the lines" and neatly clipped my cable at the junction box and left for lunch and never returned. Fortunately, I have a good stash of weatherproof IDC splices, found the cut and put things back in operation. I suppose I'll tell them that it was a miracle that the cable just got spliced back together on its own. Never fool with an engineer...

If we're interested in reducing absorption by the mechanics, why put the weights on the most massive part of the system--the valves? That one doesn't follow--rotary valves are already pretty massive.
