You might also look at the VMI 3301. It is a 4 piston valve BBb, which, I believe, is available in the $3000 range, new. I cannot address its playing characteristics, since I have only test played one at Dillon's, but VMI have a good reputation.
Also, note that a used horn (e.g., a Mirafone 186 from eBay) might need a chemical cleaning and valve service once you get it. That will run a few hundred $$. If you go that route, get a budget figure from a repair house.
