Well, yeah, sort of . . . complexity is in the eye of the beholder. It's true that, theoretically (and in my own post), every time you use a valve, you change the key of the horn. However, thinking of it that way on a regular basis leads to confusion. It's better to use the standard fingering charts and get used to it. As a long-time electric bass player, I can make some use of string harmonics, but the complexity of using them regularly is too much for me. Better to keep it simple.
