Although 350 degrees Fahrenheit will not damage any valve casing, any plastic/neoprene/cork parts that are not removed first might go up in smoke!
Removing a leadpipe is quite simple - my 10-year old twin daughter/apprentices can do that. Installing a leadpipe correctly, though, is another matter . . .
