Whichever one fits your son the best.

Seriously, both horns are fine tubas with great repair records. You'll find excellent players who use one or both and will tell you that they are great tubas. That's mainly because the tuba fits that player's playing style. Have your son try out both and see if one or the other fits better. If so, that's the one you buy. Either way, you can't go wrong from a quality standpoint because both horns are fine products. If I were you, I'd also have a good player, perhaps a professional tubist, try each horn out as well and give you an opinion. Sometimes a less experienced player can't tell if a tuba has any problems or not. If your son has a good private instructor, you should be consulting with him as well. Good luck!

My opinion for what it's worth...
