I use a M1CB with my MW32 and I have fine results. My horn has a nickel silver leadpipe which seems to help with the response. I bought mine from Dillon's where Matt Walters orders these horns with a longer main tuning slide to compensate for the fact that these are sharp (tuning wise) horns. Maybe if your student's horn doesn't have this, then Matt W. could get one for you. I have found in my experience that this horn plays the same scale pretty much regardless of what mouthpiece is stuck in the receiver. However, results may vary.
