Actually, I do understand. I first served as a 60 gunner in an infantry platoon. I later had my hands on .50 caliber mounts on the M1 as a tanker.

I was not in a military band, but I do understand that musicians draw some very hazardous duties, such as guards for VIP's and retrieval of fallen servicemen and women in the field. These are two of such duties that I have heard of, and I have always had respect for the band.

I work in law enforcement now, teach and play music professionally. I still rrun around with a sidearm and go where most people don't want to go. Instead of targets and the enemy, we have suspects and constitutional rights. Every once in a while, I still use an M16 in raids.

With respect, don't tell me that I don't have a clue. You may be the one without the clue.
