Your last statement has much truth in it, but on the other hand I would think it easier to find a CC at the cost of a small car that one sounds nice on than to find a vintage souzie that fills that one criterium.
On the lighter side, thinking of another 'souze'-discussion a little further down the board, I would challenge you to find a CC that costs as much as a new car costs in Norway, including all the sales taxes on cars there. That would include the import taxes the US puts on foreign tubas ;^)
