I own a willson 3050 and a willson Eb tuba. The 3050 is really not a horn that would be a good only horn to own. I think it is a bit too big for smaller groups like a quintet. I am sure that some would do well with a big horn in a small group but I am not one of them. I currently use the Eb for almost everything. I have played a 2145 before and I am sure you should be happy with it for an all around tuba. My former teacher used to play a 2145 and used it for a lot of symphony playing and did very well with it.
