ditto. Cello parts, bassoon parts...use tenor clef as well as bass clef.
What's funny is that I had a pretty good knowledge of tenor clef before I ran into Bb treble clef euphonium parts....and didn't realize it was basically the same for a while!! I was learning a "new" clef that I already knew how to read. The mind can play silly tricks...
I don't think the original poster needs more "excuses" to make his son learn bass clef.
Just do it!! Get some bass clef duets and play them with him.
