Yes, I think it can be done and I know that people do it. But, there will be non-musical logistics to deal with. You will have to constantly be recruiting students. There are several ways to do that - but how are you going to do it? If it is your primary source of income, I guess there is some paperwork for you to do about that - taxes for instance. If you are focusing on school age kids, most of your work will be at nights and weekends. With a full time load of students, I would say it would be a logistical nightmare sceduling them - especially if you are in an area where kids have tons of extra-curricular activities. And, 1 hour will probably not work for middle and some high school students. $15 for 1/2 is probably a better system (IMHO). If you really have a go-getter kind of attitude, you could do it.
