Speaking of tenor clef, there is another nifty use for knowing treble clef, which is probably the reason for Treble Euph parts: reading bass clef tuba parts playing an Eb tuba.
That's how they made it easier for excess trumpet players to switch to an instrument the band needed. Eb Alto horn was another one.
