Chuck(G) found The Helicon Schottische for tuba and small concert band (composed by J. H. Woods during the last quarter of the 19th century) in the LOC.

As Chuck is strongly associated with a flute choir I made a version for that format and a solo tuba a couple of years ago. Chuck performed it locally some time later.

Chuck recently did this solo with a pick-up flute choir of good players during the Walla Walla summer camp and the piece was well received.

That has made me decide to make this arrangement available for the public. Many campuses have good flute choirs and good tuba players which might enjoy this odd format.

The flute choir take this manning:

3 piccolos in C

3 soprano flutes in C

3 alto flutes in G

1 bass flute in C

1 guitar (optional)

Chuck has performed the solo on CC and Eb tubas, but it must be said, that it is easier to do the trills on a CC.

My music files’ group is full, so I have had to start a new one to which "old" subscribers will be invited eventually. For now you will have to do a sign-up.
