It always comes up on this list on whether it is possible to cut a BBb sousaphone down. No it isn't, however it is possible to Frankenstein one from other sousaphone parts. Here's the link to some pictures of a CC sousaphone that I made. I used the body section of an Eb Reynolds sousaphone, and the valve section from a small bore York Master BBb. The bits, neck and neck receiver are Olds. The lower mouthpipe is just the elbow from the original horn and straight tubes are either side. Some of the soldering is pretty sloppy and the horn has dents and dings, and it could use better bracing. But it definitely plays in the key of C. This horn will likely show up on eBay some time soon, unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse.
