The third tubist with one band that I play in uses a PT-3 (piston). His tuba has an excellent sound that has sufficient power in an 80 + member band. His tuba can also play very soft (it is good in all dynamic ranges). Of course much is the player (he is very good), but this tuba does not hold him back. I have tried his tuba and think that it is an excellent musical instrument. However, you should try other brands of tubas and then make a selection.
