So tonight I'm playing tuba in the local Municipal Band. Our guest soloist is an
excellent trumpet player, and he is ready to play one a Bach Brandenburg Concerto.
Our announcer tends to talk a little too much, and she starts to talk about how Bach had
7 children by his first wife and 13 by his second.
That's when one of my fellow tuba players, a Professor Emeritus from the local
University, no less, leans over to me and asks, "Hey, you know why Bach had 20 kids,
don't you?"
"No," I foolishly replied.
"Because the stop on his organ didn't work."
