Here's a what I do to help focus my high end (note, I am an amatuer, and this may be considered a cheat)

Find a break in the music where you can shift the mouthpiece higher on your face (try making the top of the rim hit your nose). You will then be playing on a lower, more narrow section of the rim (in effect, a smaller mouthpiece). When I started this (I was taking lessons from a the local pro at the time, and this was his suggestion), it sounded thin at first. But after some practice (both buzzing, and breathing), the sound filled out, and some fine players in the band I was in made some comments about how clear, and full, the sound was (around G above the staff)

Like I said, it may be cheating, but as an amatuer, I can use all the help I can get.
