Sometimes I wonder that myself, when somebody just asks for an equivalent to something else. It does give you many options in shanks and backbores for different horns, and the ability to change other things while keeping the same rim. That's why I make them.
I will have improved versions of everything in a couple of months. Don't ask any sooner.
