Ok...I have a question to throw out here.
I have a BB tuba with 4 rotary valves. Those of you with like configurations, what's you favorite valve oil? Do you use a different oil for the linkage and springs?
How do you like to apply it.I usually use Holton Rotary valve oil, I apply it to the top and botom bearings, as well as to the linkages. I also squirt a little down the lead pipe and tuning slides for good measure. I try to shy away from a heavy grade oil for fear that it will mix with various deposits that the horn collects and gum it up and get sluggish with the valves.
Just curious what everyone else does...
