As a high school band director (and tubist) I've been pleased with King. I have two, purchased together and have been used for 2 years. Both students are getting nice dark, big sounds using the stock mouthpiece. The draw backs are: 1. Not so careful quality control (messy solders, lacquer runs), 2. large bell = more area to dent, 3. "fat and short" design makes playing position awkward for some.
From a personal point of view, I enjoy playing the horns. I find the valves to be too far apart (I have average-sized hands).
