There is nothing "uncool" about performing in wind bands in general. Indeed, this is an honorable experience involving the transfer of an historic musical culture from one generation to the next. Perhaps those who believe band to be "uncool" are picking up on nonexistent perceived perspectives and really don't understand what American wind bands are all about. We should all be champions of this fine endeavor.
