I have had mine for about ten months and love it. I bought this horn to last me the rest of my life, and other than a old Eb sousa, is my only horn. The design gives me some ergonomical discomfort after playing for a couple of hours, but certainly liveable. I have a bright silver horn with seemingly good plating, and have only had one solder problem with the leadpipe connection at the mouthpiece.
The one unique thing that I have noticed involves my section-mate in community band. He plays an old Mira 186 with most laquer worn off. We can both play individual notes in tune on the tuner, but our horns don't mesh well while playing a piece. The different intonation characteristics really impact our cumulative sound production. Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm not a professional, but I can see why band directors like to have similar horns in a tuba section.

Overall, I'm pleased.
