Here goes....

A few years ago my solo and ensemble judge for tuba was a trumpet and tuba player. He said playing them was no problem for him because one lip does most of the work on tuba and the other the work on trumpet. I don't know how accurate this is, but the concept really worked for him. I think that is the key to switching between any two instruments; find some mental concept that works for you and let it happen. I have never had a problem switching from tuba to trombone/euphonium or playing trumpet. The endurance on the higher instruments is the only thing which I have had a problem with. Practice more on the higher instrument for endurance and the lower for breath support. If your chops are in shape for the trumpet, they should be fine for euphonium and great for tuba.

Your miles may vary....

If this is completely wrong, feel more than free to ignore it.
