This price sounds high to me. There are a lot of full-sized tubas out there in the $2000 price range, and after many years of playing a nifty little Besson, I would highly recommend getting your daughter a full-sized horn. I had played the 2/20 for many years in a tuba ensemble as well as in town bands, and while it was easy to transport and adequate as far as it went, it really did not have the full sound and presence of a larger horn. My son started on my Besson when he was nine years old, and it met his needs for about a year. His playing took a quantum leap forward when he moved up to a full-sized Yamaha.
