Don't know what happened to him, but I owned a 5valve(4+1) that was the best CC I ever played next to my Alex. It was wrecked in a bad car accident. I loved the tuning slide in the left hand and the valves were great. As for his wacky innovations, I understand Bohm&Meinl used the "lefty" tuning device on their horns. My 400 Wons worth.
