Fact is, Leland, that I feel like Rip Van WInkle waking up in Tubaland,
except that it's been 30 years since I was involved in this field
with any regularity, not 20 like Ol' Rip.

You pose a great question.
The only horn I really was familiar with was the 25J in college, which
I was assigned to play when it was brand new out of the crate. and
played it for another 4 1/2 years. The other guys played "Brand B" -
Bessons, which seemed like good horns but not nearly as HUGE.

I appreciate your comments about the St. Pete. Never have actually
seen one. I suppose the thing to do is to keep a weather eye out
for another 25J.

Anyone else have ideas about a good LARGE BBb compensating horn?

Or should I look to get a CC and learn a new horn?

Thanks!
Graham
