The term "piggy" is a nickname for the compact model 4/4 tubas that were being first imported by Walter Sear in the late 60's. I believe that the nickname was given in Walter Sear's warehous in Manhattan when I and another player first took one out of the crate from the Cerveny factory. It's a stubby little thing that puts out a fair amount of sound and has a great high register.

I hope this helps.
Roger
