I have had two gig bags and both times I ended up with little curls on the edges of my bell from door frames and walls and the like. I would recommend the bag if you're really careful and don't go very far with your horn. HOWEVER, if you're one to take trips, get a hard case, preferably one that fits snuggly to your horn.
I have ended up with dings in my horns from the bag that would have never been there if I had it in a case. Be safe with a case.
