The preceding story is true, but those that know me know that I am seldom serious, particularly if I am being serious. Seriously, listen to those around you, and take Jay's advice - try to hear the pitch you are coming in on before your entrance. Not only will you nail the right note but you will nail it in tune therefore making your entrance project much better. If noone is playing that note before you come in, still try to visualize it mentally. BTW, if the orchestra is tuning to you, particularly during a chorale part, make sure you have darn'd good intonation!
