I also reflect on a tubachristmas I was a part of in Little Rock, Arkansas back in 1985, I believe. We played at a large mall in the downtown area, and Santa Claus did not appreciate the dynamics of the what turned out to be between 60 and 100 players in a heavy metal (weighty brass) ensemble performing many of the Christmas favorites. As it was one of the few times my mother was able to attend a performance that one of her sons was in, she took exception to the fact that someone would disturb such a performance.
As I recall, she threatened to have charges brought against the slightly lubed and highly agitiated man in red. She also complained to the mall management, who quickly intervened on our behalf.
As I recall, we didn't return to the mentioned mall for quite some time.
It was fun.
