One time shopping for tubas in University City (adjacent to St. Louis) I saw a little Eb tuba. The store owner told me that when they took it in trade, the third valve didn't play. The valve worked but the horn was blocked with the third valve pushed. They pulled the slide and found it was filled with wine and then corked on both ends. I couldn't argue because the wine odor was still there.
