I can not speak for the other guys in the finals but, Chris Olka (I have heard) uses a 6/4 Nirshl. Warren Deck uses the same horn and has sold his 6/4MW's.

As mentioned there are many choices out there for an all around horn. If you have the cash to purchase a large and mid-sized BBb/CC and an Eb/F, then go for it. If not, then you had better go with a 4/4-5/4 model. After having the opportunity to play one recently and if you got the cash, I would recommend the MW 2000 series 2155. This is a great tuba! If I had not just bought an F recently that baby would have been mine. Take your time and find what fits your taste. If you do not what your taste is then ask someone to listen to you play some different horns. Places like Dillon Music, Baltimore Brass and Brasswind would be your best bet. Please do not buy the first thing that comes along. You could possibly regret it later.
