I don't know if I'd buy the "CC tubas are built better than BBb" argument any more. It certainly was pretty much fact years ago, but the manufacturers of good CC tubas usually have a BBb version that is every bit as good. Some manufacturers (e.g. Alexander) start with an BBb design and change it slightly for CC, with the result that the BBb version often plays better.
