Anecdotally, there equal number of performers who primarily rely on only a CC horn (even a 6/4 one!) or on only an F. For instance, most of us have heard of Arnold Jacobs' tremendous facility using only his York, or we remember the success Kelly O'Bryant had playing only on his modified Yamaha F 822 - not that either man used those instruments exclusively throughout the entirety of his career.

You are considering the effects of going up to 3 months without a CC horn. Given your lack of experience on the F, would you be able to perform up to the standards of all of your jobs? If the deal to get the other CC horn somehow falls through, can you make it on just the F? Sean is exactly right. Going with the F now sounds too risky.

Good luck,
LL
