The bell attachment ring is tapered slightly, and at the thin end (on the bell, where it slides into the body of the tuba), it's 7-9/16 inches. It's not like a King bell. A King bell solders into the attachment ring with a minimal insertion of about 3/8". The York bell is mounted all the way into the ring, so that the bell material is flush with the end of the attachment ring, and it's soldered just at the top edge. That way, the bell brass slides right up to the body brass with only one joint.

You might be able to use a King bell for an old 2341, however. It would sit a little deeper in the attachment ring than it does on a King, which would be more like the straight bell on the York. I'll take a look at this on Saturday when I uncle is visiting with his King.
