I don't want to be a cold shower, but you should know that lawyers don't fight for what they believe in any more than tuba players get to play, for money, music that always satisfies them. A few do--the real stars. But most lawyers fight for what the client believes in, and must often utterly submerge their own beliefs to do so. Their clients are often fighting on the wrong side of the truth (by definition, this is true half the time, for cases that dispute the truth). You don't get to pick and choose your clients when you work for a law firm.

I have at various times considered a law profession, being somewhat skilled in the arts of argumentation. Many have recommended it to me. But I can only argue effectively things that I either believe or that I don't care about. I can't argue against my own beliefs, without it glowing in the dark. And I have an overabundance of beliefs, heh, heh.
